Cypress Stump Wins!!! 05/01/2010

Okay, I am back from my recent travels and more ready that ever to start my new collection for the Art in the Park event.  Inspiration is firmly in place and sketches are ready to start taking shape.  Just received my new silver and gold wire in the mail along with some fabulous new gems sent from home in Tucson.  Today I will be in the studio, so come on by and tell me what you think!  Also, I know you have been waiting for an update on my display decision...driftwood or cypress stump...well...look below.  We opted for the stump and it is gorgeous!!  Wait until we light this baby and set her on a pedestal wearing the newest Blue Room Studios Rio Grande collection.  Thank you Mary!!!  Also, I had a glimpse of the event room and scoped out my event space.  Perfect!  I will be situated next to Duncan McClellan, (location, location, location) with wall display room for my four canvased photos of my hands making jewerly (photos by Stephen Vessenmeyer) and room for the Cypress Display and a large counter for bidding and individual jewelry "Inspiration Guides".  So excited. Each winner of my work will receive a gift bag filled with items donated from the various artists in the Village along with valuable coupons and promotions.  Hopefully we can lure some of these Pinellas County bidders down to Manatee County.

Well, I'm posting from the glamorous Food Court in lovely LaGuardia Airport in NY!  My plane was overweight, so 3 people were encouraged to volunteer their seat for a voucher and a later flight...so here is sit typing away and preparing for the 5/23 Art in the Park event benefitting the Chi Chi Rodriguez Foundation.  My creative specialist and eventual business manager, Mary Hunter, is presently brainstorming a rustic, natural Florida inspired display showcase for my 12 featured pieces at the auction event.  We are thinking about internally lighting a large piece of driftwood and mounting it on an expansive crystal base accenting the branches with small orchids and of course, the main event, my original collection.  Mary, at this moment, is also inspecting a large Cyress Tree Stump as a possible option as well!  This is all so fun!  Time is running short, but creative inspiration is at an all time high!  I will be in Nashville until Thursday, but will be back in the Studio next weekend ready to resume my work.  Hopefully you will be able to shop by on Saturday or stay and play on Sunday.  Wish me luck!!!

So are you wondering about the K?  Such a talented model....Really, I was so pleased to see that Jeremy chose this element as a focal display for my various pieces.  My Dad carved that K for me :)  It has such sentimental value and such distinctive class and style.  It almost makes me want to change my studio name!  Anyway, I'll be at the studio this weekend...Saturday and Sunday....come on by!  I'm working on my 12 original pieces for the May 23rd event.  Gotta be funky, chunky and oh so unique!  There will be some wire wielding this weekend!!!!

Well the Fashion Show was a success!  The weather was absolutely beautiful and so were the models!  Attendance was a record and the food was incredible.  Vicki did an amazing job of pulling together a delightful event.  Guests stopped by my studio afterwards still raving about their day and wondering when the next one was scheduled!  So kudos to all involved and I look forward to next year!  I will have ppictures posted to my site very soon!

It's Tuesday night and the Village is actively preparing for the Fashion Show this Saturday morning!  Several Blue Room originals will be adorning the lovely models...so excited!  Unfortunately one of my most recent pieces was chosen for the Fashion Show but immediatley sold during the recent Artwalk!  A customer's mom is about to receive a very lovely gift :)

Blue Room will be sponsoring a table too.  Be sure to look for the Copper Palm Tree crafted by fellow Village artist Hank...he made this piece just to showcase my jewelry and fancify a lucky group of guests' table.  Be sure to check out all of the dangling earrings and hugging necklaces sprouting from the palm fronds!  They are for sale as is Hank's beautiful sculpture.

Brunch will be fabulous and the entire event quite an occasion for the Guild.  I will be helping out at the show all day Saturday so I hope to meet you there!  My husband Andy will be manning the studio (he's so good) so that I can enjoy and volunteer for such an important and traditional event for the Village.  See you there and be sure to shop by the studio!
